A person’s Emotional Intelligence (EQ) may be a better predictor of success performance than intelligence (IQ).

EQ Training

This seminar incorporates a personalized Emotional Quotient assessment for each participant. The facilitation material helps participants understand their emotional intelligence, which is the ability to sense, understand and effectively apply the power and acumen of emotions to facilitate higher levels of collaboration and productivity.

The Emotional Quotient assessment was designed to provide insight into two broad areas:

  • Intrapersonal emotional intelligence
  • Interpersonal emotional intelligence

Research shows that successful leaders and superior performers have well developed emotional intelligence skills. This makes it possible for them to work well with a wide variety of people and to respond effectively to the rapidly changing conditions in the business world.

Facilitation material content includes:

  • Understanding Emotions in the Workplace
  • Giving EQ a Language
  • Makes it Okay to be Emotional without Getting Emotional

What is Emotional Quotient?

While it is often misunderstood as intelligence quotient (IQ), Emotional Quotient is different because instead of measuring your general intelligence, it measures your emotional intelligence. Emotional Quotient is the ability to sense, understand and effectively apply the power and acumen of emotions to facilitate high levels of collaboration and productivity. In the business environment, Emotional Quotient is important because it helps you leverage your awareness of emotions for effectiveness in the workplace.

FIVE AREAS of EQ:

Self-Awareness – the ability to recognize and understand your moods, emotions and drives, as well as their effect on others.
Self-Regulation – the ability to control or re-direct disruptive impulses and moods and the propensity to suspend judgment and think before acting.
Motivation – a passion to work for reasons that go beyond money and status and a propensity to pursue goals with energy and persistence.
Social Skills – a proficiency in managing relationships and building networks.
Empathy – the ability to understand the emotional makeup of other people.

Studies have shown that a high emotional quotient can improve career success, leadership talent, relationship satisfaction, and overall happiness.  All jobs revolve around people, so make sure that your staff has the skills necessary for success.

Managers and executives greatly benefit from raising their Emotional Intelligence to improve their own leadership development. Highly effective leadership is based on empathy; this enables employees to feel “connected” to the leader. By providing your employees with EQ training, you are giving them the ability and understanding of their emotions along with their colleagues’ emotions. This understanding will create a better work coordination and environment.
